Texas provides countless options for individuals to be trained as teachers. The most popular options are alternative certification programs (alt-cert). These programs are typically not housed nor affiliated with universities.
Recent news articles suggest that individuals might need to assume training and preparation sacrifices if an alt-cert program is chosen but that is not true for all alt-cert programs.
