No. You can be admitted to the iteach program with a bachelor’s degree in any subject and a 2.7 cumulative GPA.
No, iteach does not participate in federal or state financial aid programs.
iteach prepares candidates for North Carolina licensure in most first-time licensure areas. To be eligible for a Residency License, you must either have completed 24 semester hours of coursework in the requested licensure area or have passed the content area examination(s) required by the N.C. State Board of Education for the requested licensure area.
N.C. State Board of Education policy requires that all content area examination(s) and the edTPA are attempted before the end of the first year of licensure, and passed before the expiration of the second renewal of the Residency License. See the North Carolina State Board of Education Approved Testing Requirements for more information about required licensure exams.
The iteach coursework is self-paced. You can complete all program-required instructional coursework within several months. Once you enroll, you have a maximum of two years to secure a teaching position as a teacher of record on a Residency License at a North Carolina public school, where you will complete remaining program requirements including passing licensure content exams and the edTPA. Your program fee includes one year of support on a Residency License. You can renew your enrollment for up to two additional years if needed.
