High School Spanish Teacher

Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Spanish Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep knowledge of the Spanish language and culture, a passion for teaching, and a commitment to academic excellence. This educator will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction aligned to Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) standards for Languages Other Than English (LOTE).

Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging Spanish language instruction at beginner to advanced levels
Design and implement lessons aligned with TEKS and district curriculum guidelines
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including English Language Learners and students with IEPs
Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments
Create a classroom environment conducive to learning, participation, and growth
Integrate cultural awareness and authentic materials into instruction
Maintain accurate records of student achievement, attendance, and behavior
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school events
Support campus initiatives related to literacy, college readiness, and instructional rigor

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (required)
Valid Texas teaching certificate in LOTE – Spanish (EC–12) or eligibility for certification (required)
Demonstrated proficiency in Spanish (reading, writing, listening, speaking)
Experience teaching in a middle or high school setting preferred
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Commitment to student success and culturally responsive pedagogy

Work Environment:
Traditional classroom setting
Does require occasional evening or weekend events
Participation in campus-wide initiatives and parent engagement activities expected
