Tips for Recording
a Great Video

Be Prepared.
Plan your answers to the questions ahead of time. Practice speaking clearly and confidently. A well-prepared response will make a strong impression.

Use Good Natural Lighting.
Record your video in a well-lit area, preferably near a window with natural light. Avoid backlighting and harsh shadows to ensure your face is clearly visible.

Choose a Quiet Location.
Find a quiet place to record your video to avoid background noise and distractions. This will help ensure your voice is heard clearly.

Maintain Eye Contact.
Look directly into the camera as if you are speaking to someone in person. This helps create a connection with the viewer and conveys confidence.

Keep the Background Simple.
Choose a clean and uncluttered background. Avoid any distracting elements that might take attention away from your message.

2024-2025 Teaching For Greater Good Scholarship

SCHOLARSHIP OVERVIEW:

Three scholarship recipients will have their iteach program fees waived, covering the full cost of iteach’s alternative certification program. Awardees will also be given 6 months of access to Teaching Channel’s video library and 5 professional development courses curated for new teachers.

Candidates who apply to the iteach alternative certification program between July 15th, 2024, and August 19, 2024, will be eligible. Scholarship winners will be announced by September 1, 2024.

ELIGIBILITY:
Applicants for the Scholarship must do the following:

Complete the scholarship application
Apply and qualify for the iteach alternative certification program by August 19, 2024.
Be willing to contribute content to the marketing team at iteach and Teaching Channel as detailed below.

CONTENT AGREEMENT:
Winners will be responsible for providing

• 500-word blog per month for 6 months for both iteach and Teaching Channel upon enrolling in the program documenting their journey to becoming a teacher.
• 4 written (10-30 word) testimonials for both iteach and Teaching Channel within 4 months of becoming hired.
• 4 30-90 second videos throughout the duration of the program for iteach.
• 4 30-90 second videos for Teaching Channel within 4 months of completing the iteach program or becoming a teacher.
  • Videos must be of high quality, 1080×1920 format, and suitable for use on iteach and Teaching Channels social media accounts
  • Videos for Teaching Channel must talk about how they utilized the video library to supplement their learning with the iteach program.

SELECTION CRITERIA:
Scholarship winners will be selected based on the overall quality of their essay and vocal video responses. Evaluation criteria will include, but are not limited to, grammar, punctuation, content, and public speaking skills. Submissions will be reviewed and scored against a standardized rubric to ensure fairness and consistency. Any evidence of plagiarism or unfair practices will result in disqualification.

PUBLICITY RELEASE:
By accepting the scholarship, each winner grants iteach and Teaching Channel permission to use their name, likeness, photograph, voice, opinions, and city/state of residence for advertising, promotional, and/or marketing purposes across print, broadcast, Internet, and other media, without additional compensation, notice, or approval, except where prohibited by law.

LIMITATIONS:
The scholarship shall become void if the scholarship winner has not been hired as a full-time teacher of record within 10 months of enrolling in the program or fails to fulfill the agreed-upon content contribution requirements outlined below in the Terms and Conditions. If the scholarship winner is not hired as a full-time teacher within 10 months of the enrollment date, they will no longer be eligible to receive the scholarship and will be responsible for all missed program fees.

Void where prohibited. This scholarship may not be redeemed for cash value. This scholarship is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with other programs.
