Florida Teacher Certification

You may apply and enroll at any time. iteachFLORIDA does not have any application deadlines. Individuals may apply seven days a week, and once accepted, enrolled at any time as well.

It is your responsibility to request that your transcripts be sent to iteachFLORIDA; iteachFLORIDA does not request transcripts on your behalf. If you already have official transcripts, you may mail them directly to iteachFLORIDA.

By state rule, you must have a minimum graduating GPA of 2.5 or a GPA of 2.5 in your last 60 hours of college coursework. If you are unsure whether you meet this requirement, you can evaluate your GPA using our GPA calculator tool (Excel file, 39KB).

Graduate courses taken at an accredited college or university may be included in your calculation for your GPA in your last 60 hours of coursework.

If you do not meet the minimum GPA requirement, you will need to take additional undergraduate or graduate coursework in order to improve your GPA in your last 60 hours of coursework

iteachFLORIDA determines your eligibility for certification in a content area during your application evaluation. The qualification for content area certification is demonstrated by the detailed description on your Statement of Status Eligibility from the FLDOE.

To obtain a Statement of Status Eligibility from the FLDOE, you will need to complete and submit a CG-10 Form. Found here.

The total program cost is $2,975.

This consists of all fees paid to iteach covering coursework, residency, tutoring, etc.

What is not included are testing and licensing fees which are paid to their respective agencies.

You can begin the iteachFLORIDA program after you pay your enrollment fee which is $99.00.

The total cost of the course is $2,975 which is paid through interest-free monthly payments.

No, iteachFLORIDA is not an institution of higher education. Therefore, the program does not qualify for financial aid.

No; teacher hiring decisions are made by school principals and district administrators. Therefore, no teacher certification program, including iteachFLORIDA, can guarantee you a teaching position.

iteachFLORIDA does provide necessary documentation that you are eligible for your Temporary Certificate; this is an essential part of the application process for uncertified teachers.

In addition, we provide information about the school hiring process and notify candidates about teacher openings to give you the best chance of finding a teaching job. To date, more than 9,000 teachers have obtained teaching jobs while enrolled in the iteach teacher certification program.

You may begin securing an internship as soon as you are accepted into the iteachFLORIDA program and fulfill the initial requirements of:

• Completion of the Pre-Hired Courses (5100 – 5300)

Once you have fulfilled the initial requirements listed above, you will receive an Intent to Hire. You provide this form to school districts for verification of eligibility for field experience. Once you obtain a field experience placement, you must complete all of the program requirements by the end of your field experience.

The whole iteachFLORIDA program is designed to be completed within one school year, but you have two full school years to find a teaching position while enrolled in the iteachFLORIDA program.
