Your remaining Program Fee is deferred until you start teaching with full pay. Your balance will be divided into equal monthly installments to be paid over your first year of teaching.

Alternate route programs provide a pathway to full teacher certification in
New Jersey for recent college graduates, career changers, and others who
did not complete a traditional teacher preparation program. You can teach
with full pay in a New Jersey public school while completing the coursework
and other requirements to earn full certification. Alternate route programs
are also referred to as Certificate of Eligibility Educator Preparation Programs
(CE-EPPs).

You may apply anytime. The 50-Hour Pre-Professional Experience coursework
is self-paced and asynchronous, so you don’t have to wait for a new
semester to get started. Once you complete the 50-Hour Pre-Professional
Experience and obtain your Certificate of Eligibility (CE), you will be able to
complete your enrollment and continue with your alternate route
coursework.

No. You can get started with a bachelor’s degree or higher in any subject from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.

No, iteach does not participate in federal or state financial aid programs.

To continue in the alternate route program after the 50-Hour Pre-Professional
Experience, you must hold a Certificate of Eligibility (CE) with an
endorsement in a subject-area that iteach is approved to offer. To qualify for
a CE, you will need to meet the subject-matter preparation and testing
requirements for your intended endorsement. Find endorsement-specific
