Below are the requirements for acceptance into the iteach alternative teacher certification program for applicants seeking a Nebraska Alternative Certificate.

Requirements for Program Admission

Bachelor’s Degree

You must have earned a bachelor’s degree.

Transcripts
Upload your official transcripts to the Applied #1 box in InstructNet. If you don’t have your transcripts, visit your college or university website and request transcripts from your school’s registrar.
Coursework
Complete the Nebraska Introductory Course.
Fees
Pay your $250 enrollment fee.
Agreement

Acknowledge your Letter of Agreement.

Other Requirements
  • Correspond using your personal email account.
  • Access to a personal (not school) computer.
  • Add @iteach.net to your contacts.

Outside of United States

Teach the Subject You Want

iteach can help you get certified for specific subject areas. You must pass the Praxis Subject Assessment that is required for the subject you want to teach. You can find details about which tests are required for each endorsement area on the Nebraska Required Tests page on the ETS website.

Outside of United States

Graduate Requirements

Graduates from a university outside the United States or its territories will need to provide to iteach an original foreign credential review completed by an organization accepted by the Nebraska Department of Education.


The credential evaluation submitted to iteach must include the following information:

  • Verification that one holds the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree granted by an accredited institution of higher education in the United States, including the month, day, and year that the degree was conferred
  • U.S. equivalency for each credential
  • Course-by-course analysis
  • Cumulative GPA of credit hours
