Below are the requirements for acceptance into the iteach alternative teacher certification program.

Requirements for Program Admission

Bachelor’s Degree

You must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education that is recognized by the Arkansas Department of Education.

GPA Requirement

Your undergraduate GPA must be a minimum of 2.50, OR Minimum 2.50 GPA in the last 60 hours of your undergrad classes.

Transcripts

Upload your official transcripts to the Applied #1 box in InstructNet.  If you don’t have your transcripts, visit your college or university website and request transcripts from your school’s registrar.

Please refer to the ETS Praxis test overview for Arkansas here to identify the Praxis II, content test, that you will be required to take and pass for state licensure.

  • Correspond using your personal email account
  • Access to a personal (not school) computer
  • Add iteach.net to your contacts list
  • Verification of Work Authorization Status
  • If not a U.S. citizen, verification of lawful permanent residence and a copy of current Green Card must be provided at the time of application with at least two years of employment eligibility.

    Outside of United States

    Graduate Requirements

    Arkansas’ Department of Education requires foreign transcripts to be evaluated by an approved evaluation agency that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or the Association of International Credential Evaluators (AICE) or Institute of Foreign Credential Services.

    Your foreign credential review must include the following information:

    1. Verification that one holds the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree granted by an accredited institution of higher education in the United States, including the month, day, and year that the degree was conferred
    2. U.S. equivalency for each credential
    3. Course-by-course analysis
    4. Cumulative GPA of credit hours
